Quantity selected exceeds current stock
The most precious jewel of the Tasca d'Almerita house is this "Diamante", produced with grapes coming from the Regaleali estate. It is not worn but drunk, obviously. But the satisfaction it gives us is absolutely comparable (at least for us wine enthusiasts). It is a passito obtained not from Moscato grapes alone, as per the island's tradition, but from a skilful blend of Moscato and Gewürztraminer grapes, not exactly an indigenous Sicilian grape variety but which, in recent years, is slowly gaining a place honor also in Mediterranean ampelography. Obviously it needs to be grown in the coolest corners of the island, in vineyards that are up to 900 meters above sea level, where the heat of the sun in spring and especially in summer is mitigated by a certain nocturnal coolness. And it is precisely this magical mix of conditions that allows the grapes to reach full maturity of aromas and flavors. After the harvest, the healthiest and most beautiful bunches are left to dehydrate in the shade. This is followed by vinification in steel and refinement for almost a year in inert containers and in the bottle. The color is golden yellow. On the nose, white flowers, citrus peel, candied fruit, tropical fruit and lots and lots of acacia honey. In the mouth it is sweet but balanced. Long and pleasantly fresh, it seems to never end
